Videography (Fall Internship)

Freestyle Creative is currently accepting applications for fall 2018 video interns. Ideal candidates should have a strong interest in film production and digital marketing.

Responsibilities of a video intern vary according to date/clients’ needs. Key tasks and responsibilities would include:

  • Assisting the Freestyle team with shooting promotional videos for various clients
  • Editing videos and media collateral for various Freestyle clients
  • Brainstorming and creative strategy for implementation of Freestyle clients’ digital marketing
  • Assisting the Freestyle team with shooting photography for creative materials and client events
  •  Helping out with scheduled film shoots in the Freestyle studio
  • Assisting the Freestyle team with day-to-day film and digital marketing responsibilities

Internship Requirements:

  • A college junior or senior studying film & media studies, broadcast electronic
  • media, photography or visual communications
  • Strong video-editing skills (sound design and animation experience a plus)
  • Ability to manage a project from start to finish and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere
  • Ability to effectively communicate both visually and verbally
  • Desire to work in a creative, collaborative environment
  • Ability to multi-task while being thorough, accurate and detail-oriented
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

For the internship to be considered complete, you will complete one “project” in which you produce a video for your resume and reel that displays your skill in the field.  Subject matter, and your role on the project is decided based on your career aspirations.

Candidate must be available to work a range of 10-20 hours per week. Internship hours will be coordinated to fit the student’s class schedule and meet course credit requirements.

Account Services (Fall Internship)

Freestyle Creative is currently accepting applications for fall 2018 account services interns. Ideal candidates should have a strong interest in client relations, content creation and public relations writing.

Responsibilities of account services intern vary according to date/clients’ needs. Key tasks and responsibilities would include:

  • Working with the Freestyle team to draft press releases for various Freestyle clients
  • Developing social media content • Assisting with copywriting for Freestyle clients’ websites and blog posts
  • Researching media coverage for Freestyle clients
  • Assisting the account services team as needed (attending networking functions, contacting Freestyle clients)
  • Reaching out to Freestyle’s media contacts and sending press releases
  • Assisting the Freestyle team with day-to-day public relations and account service responsibilities

Internship Requirements:

  • A college junior or senior studying public relations, advertising, marketing or communications
  • Strong public relations writing skills
  • Familiar with AP Style
  • Ability to manage a project from start to finish and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Desire to work in a creative, collaborative environment
  • Ability to multi-task while being thorough, accurate and detail-oriented

Graphic Design (Fall Internship)

Freestyle Creative is currently accepting applications for a fall 2018 Graphic Design intern. Ideal candidates should have a strong interest in visual communications, marketing and advertising. Freestyle interns must be eligible to receive course credit through a university program.

Responsibilities of account services intern vary according to date/clients’ needs. Key tasks and responsibilities would include:

  • Content creation for various Freestyle clients’ social media platforms
  • Design/layout multi-media collateral for various Freestyle clients
  • Brainstorm and strategize for implementation of Freestyle clients’ marketing
  • Create graphics for digital marketing and signage
  • Branding/logo design
  • Assist the Freestyle team with day-to-day marketing responsibilities

Internship Requirements:

Creative Director

Freestyle is seeking a full-time creative director. This leadership position is responsible for the overall supervision of the agency’s creative services (video, design, copy and web development) as well as taking strategic marketing plans and interpreting them into “big ideas.” The creative director interfaces between the client, the account team and the creative department while reporting to the president.  

The creative director manages all creative projects within the agency staff and selects which freelancers will work on certain creative assignments.  The creative director approves all creative work before presentation to the client, first reviewing the creative work with the account team, taking the account team’s requests for change into consideration. Most of all, the creative director should have a “vision” about the importance of the creative product to the future success of the agency. 

Responsibilities:

  • Directs the creative services at the agency and strives for excellence in everything from concept to completion of every project on schedule
  • Leads creative concepting for the Freestyle team
  • Works closely with account services to solve marketing problems through smart, well-designed advertising and collateral materials that help sell product, and maintain good image for clients and agency
  • Manages the creative department (design, copywriting, video and web development)
  • Directs Freestyle’s internal marketing and client commercials
  • Attends client meeting as needed (along with the account team) to develop creative strategies and implements all creative requirements including copy, layout, illustrations, final art and photography
  • Confirms client review and delivery schedules with account manager and assigns jobs to creative team
  • Oversees creative solutions and presents those to account manager for internal approval at a date determined in the initial creative input meeting
  • Directs work to assure on-schedule delivery for client review
  • Is called on request of account manager, or by his/her own request, to pitch creative at client presentations
  • Selects vendors for jobs and is involved along with the creative team in signing off on website, layouts, artwork, photography, proofs and proposals
  • Oversees selection and management of all freelance services
  • Interviews and screens applicants for creative positions as well as hiring and terminating
  • Maintains current working knowledge of creative skills, software and programs to ensure entire creative department as well as individual staff members remain on the leading edge of essential technology and skills
  • Oversees the creative department budget
  • Schedules and authorizes payment for creative team skills training
  • Represents the agency at creative/professional/civic functions
  • Embodies Freestyle’s core values and mission
  • Supports business development with creative needs and pitches Freestyle’s creative services to potential new clients as needed

Position requirements:

  • Related experience in a creative field (agency experience a plus)
  • Management experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)
  • Ability to effectively communicate both visually and verbally
